As the summer kicks off, so does the rise in wild fires. Crews are already busy tackling wildfires along the central coast. The Soda Fire in the Carrizo Plain National Monument near Cuyama started Saturday night just after 5:30 p.m. and continued into Sunday morning, off of Soda Lake Road. As of 6:00 p.m. Sunday, and according to the Bureau of Land Management, the fire is 80% contained and the cause is still under investigation.
