Every year, Utah’s Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands publicly recognize a cooperator within the state for their excellence and achievements in upholding the goals and ideas of the National Cohesive Strategy (NCS) as well as Utah’s own Catastrophic Wildfire Reduction Strategy.

This year the Juab County Fire District earned the prestigious award for their efforts upholding all three primary tenants of the NCS: maintaining resilient landscapes, creating fire adapted communities, and retaining a safe and effective wildfire response. Their diligence and hard work should serve as the example for all rural fire districts to replicate.
