SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. - 'Ready for Wildfire,' a new app by CAL FIRE puts a library of step-by-step checklists in the palms of Central Coast residents.

The app allows homeowners to track their progress when creating defensible space, hardening their homes with fire-resistant construction, assembling an emergency supply kit, and creating a family communication and evacuation plan. It's all done with a tap of a finger.
