In Washington state, more than 22 million acres of forests are at risk from invasive insects and disease.
Although August was the peak time of year to find invasive bugs like Asian long-horned beetle, emerald ash borer and other aggressive wood-boring insects, it’s never too late to check for harmful bugs, said Justin Bush, executive coordinator of the Washington Invasive Species Council.
