Testimony on a bill that would lead the state’s response to the invasive emerald ash borer (EAB) was scheduled to receive a committee hearing Monday, Feb. 25 at the capitol in Lincoln.

LB 71, introduced by Sen. Patty Pansing Brooks of Lincoln, would appropriate $3 million a year to a tree recovery fund for ash tree removal, disposal and tree replanting. Funding would be available as 50-50 cost-share grants to qualifying communities and public lands.
