In the last year, the City of Napa Fire Department has hired and trained 10 new reserve firefighters, all of whom hope to become full-fledged, full-time firefighters one day.

The new reservists, who now total 12, help out on both fire and medical calls as well as serve as extra bodies during emergencies or even inclement weather, including last week’s windy conditions.
