SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Firefighters with Eugene Springfield Fire Department are combating a brush fire at the top of the Mountain Gate Subdivision in the Thurston area of Springfield.

The fire is currently about 3 acres and numerous fire apparatus are being deployed to the area which had residential property in close proximity, officials said.
