Montana seems to be headed for a normal fire year, but that could change in a hurry, a state official told legislators Thursday morning.

Montana Department of Natural Resources state forester Bob Harrington told members of the Environmental Quality Council that while some areas still look green and smoke isn’t clouding the skies, a large part of the state is “one lightning storm away from a rodeo.”
