Mike Lester, CWSF Chair and National Association of State Foresters (NASF) Executive Committee member, and CWSF staff were in Washington D.C. the first week of May to attend the State & Private Forestry Board meeting and the NASF Executive Committee meeting.
Additionally, Wyoming State Forester and NASF President, Bill Crapser, and Alaska State Forester, Chris Maisch, attended the meetings.
Among issues discussed were state forester policy and legislative priorities including the upcoming Farm Bill and fiscal year 2017 and 2018 appropriations. State foresters also attended meetings on Capitol Hill with members of their Congressional delegation to share those state forester priorities.
